Want To Be Treated Like A Professional Athlete?

Fall isn’t far away with baseball season winding down, football season on the cusp of beginning and the rumblings of hockey and basketball season around the corner! Millions of people across the globe tune in night in and night out to watch their favorite teams participate in their rigorous sporting events. Do you ever sit back and think, “How do they do recover so quickly from an injury?” or “Man, I wish I could do that?”

Many of us play recreational sports and try to impersonate our favorite athlete; however, most of us are not world class athletes that get to train and perform with the most elite. Therefore, we have a much higher probability that we will succumb to the injury bug and recover at an average pace. At Healthy Feet Podiatry, we realize everyone doesn’t have millions of dollars to invest in our favorite past time sports, not just from a medical standpoint but from a personal standpoint as well.

Because we can empathize with the frustrations of sports injuries, we have strived to offer the most advanced medical technology on the market. Whether you are dealing with an ankle sprain, ankle pain, heel pain, plantar fasciitis, Achilles tendinitis, neuropathy etc we are here to help! All of our favorite world renowned athletes have exposure to world renowned treatment options, so why not you? At Healthy Feet Podiatry we have found a way to resolve aches and pains associated with sports injuries using advanced regenerative medicine called Platelet Rich Plasma (aka PRP).

PRP is a simple technique performed in the office using your body’s own blood cells to repair tissue and alleviate pain that may be troubling you from the knee down. After drawing your blood in our office, we spin the blood in a centrifuge concentrating the desired platelets and growth factors which are then re-injected to the painful site.  Injecting this plasma concentrate into the injured area stimulates the brain to restart the healing cascade signaling healing cells to repair the injured tissue.  After a brief 1-2 weeks of immobilization in a surgical boot, you should be able to start low impact activities, physical therapy or return to normal activities depending on the degree of pain relief noted. Occasionally, some patients may require a subsequent injection; however, a majority of our patients get relief after only one injection! The best part of the entire procedure is that we are using your body’s own cells to heal rather than relying on pharmaceutical medicine.  Whether you are a professional athlete or want to be treated like one, call our office to schedule a consultation with one of our doctors to see if you are a candidate for PRP.
