Personal
As a Florida native, spending time at the beach swimming and soaking up the sun with his wife is one of Dr. Oakleys favorite things to do. Dr. Oakley was diagnoses with Type 1 diabetes at the young age of 2 and has pursued exercise throughout his life to remain healthy. He currently participates in Triathlon and a variety of running distance races. Dr. Oakley has personal experience in managing his diabetes as well as many sports related pedal injuries and provides a personal approach to his patient care.
Undergraduate Education
Dr. Gavin Oakley received his Bachelor of Science degree in Sports Medicine from Mercyhurst University in Erie, PA. During his time at Mercyhurst Dr. Oakley competed on the Mercyhurst Lakers Mens Water Polo team.
Medical School
Dr. Oakley received his Doctorate of Podiatric Medicine from Kent State University College of Podiatric Medicine in 2020.
Residency
Dr. Oakley went on to complete his Podiatric Medicine and Surgery Residency with credentialing in Reconstructive Rearfoot/Ankle Surgery from CW Bill Young Veterans Health Administration in Bay Pines.
